Joanna Smith, MSN, APRN-CNP, AGNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Joanna completed her training at South University in 2017, earning her Master of
Science in Nursing degree, specializing in Adult-Gerontology. She later attended
Regis College, graduating in 2019 and earning another MSN specializing as a
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She then founded Sunlight Solutions and Wellness
in 2019 to create the kind of practice she wished more patients had access to: one
that prioritizes relationship, clinical judgment, and individualized care.
Her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, OCD, and
women’s mental health. She works with adults and children seeking comprehensive
psychiatric care, whether that involves medication management alone or an
integrated approach that includes psychotherapy when appropriate.
Joanna practices evidence-based psychiatry with a thoughtful, whole-person lens.
When clinically indicated, she integrates attention to sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, and
mind-body factors alongside medication management, always tailoring treatment
to the individual rather than a formula.
Above all, Joanna values the patient-provider relationship and strives to create a
space where patients feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout their care.
